Welcome back, and thanks for following along our tour of northern Arizona day-cations. Now that we’ve visited Jerome and Sedona, let’s head a little further north to Flagstaff. Flagstaff can be reached by I-40 or I-17, and is also about an hour and a half from Prescott.
Flagstaff, like Sedona, also offers a wide variety of shopping. It offers everything from high-end outlets to small boutiques, and there is something for everyone. Aside from shopping, Flagstaff also offers incredible views, by day and by night. Forest walks and mountain hikes display the area’s beauty by day, and Lowell Observatory showcases the awe of the universe at night.
Lowell sits just above the city, and presents numerous exhibits filled with the history of space exploration. It is also regarded as an important location- where astronomer Clyde Tombaugh first discovered Pluto. The telescope he used was recently restored and is now on display again.
Thanks for sticking with us on our Arizona tour. Where do you think we’ll head next? Check back soon to find out.
